Their wedding took place at Ruunawere Hotel, Estonia's oldest operating horse post station, in a rustic atmosphere reflecting the couple's inner dynamics and lifestyle.

The edible installation was a wedding gift from a bridesmaid and close friend who wanted to give something handmade specifically for the couple. The entire creation process was a collaboration with the client, who designed it based on the couple's wishes.

The brief and solution

The bride had been looking for a suitable gift for the wedding guests for some time. She wanted something that would carry a memory of the event but wouldn't end up gathering dust in a drawer. Such physical objects acquire symbolic value and are hard to throw away, yet they often lack practical value in daily life, making keeping them a tedious obligation.

A photo lollipop was the perfect middle ground – it can be eaten right away or kept for a while, but it isn't permanent and demands nothing from the recipient. When the time comes, it simply disappears.

The lollipops were already booked, and when The Crazy Hedgehog began offering edible installations, it was a great opportunity to add another layer of value – turning them into a spectacular object that is memorable, photogenic, and impossible to miss.

The Crazy Hedgehog asked the client about the couple, the wedding, and the venue – it turned out that a central element was a large wedding candle painted with ears of grain, cornflowers, poppies, and daisies. The candle was to stand on a rustic wooden base.

This detail became the foundation of the project – The Crazy Hedgehog proposed a five-tier structure resembling a traditional wedding cake but made of similar wooden discs. The lollipops – featuring the same flowers, rings, and the couple's names – would surround the edge of each disc, with an arrangement of fresh flowers and ears of grain between them – a perfect companion.

The lollipop was the solution. The installation ensured its visibility.

The brief

The solution

A gift for wedding guests that carries a memory without becoming a burden.

A lollipop.
