What exactly is a photo lollipop?
A lollipop with a picture is a handcrafted caramel containing an edible image. The image is printed with edible ink on wafer paper and placed between two layers of candy – sugar caramel at the bottom and transparent isomalt on top. Isomalt provides brightness and clarity to the image and also acts as a protective layer – just as glass protects a work of art – so the image inside the candy remains visible throughout the entire time it is being eaten.
